In celebration of 25 years of Xbox, Microsoft has unveiled a special edition console and controller that pay homage to the iconic original Xbox. The Xbox Series X 25th Anniversary Limited Edition features a translucent OG Green design, reminiscent of the classic console that started it all. Each unit is individually numbered with a unique engraving, making it a true collector’s item and a lasting piece of gaming history. The accompanying Special Edition controller matches the nostalgic aesthetic, with subtle tributes to the journey Xbox and its players have shared over the past quarter-century.

Beyond the striking exterior, the console is packed with hidden surprises and thoughtful details that reward longtime fans. From subtle engravings to Easter eggs scattered throughout the hardware, every element was crafted to celebrate the players, games, and moments that have defined Xbox. As Microsoft states, ‘Every detail was created to celebrate the players, games, and moments that have shaped Xbox over the past 25 years.’ This limited edition is not just a console; it’s a tribute to the community that has grown alongside the brand.

Under the hood, the 25th Anniversary Edition offers practically the same specifications as the standard Xbox Series X, ensuring top-tier performance for next-gen gaming. However, there are some important differences to note, primarily the unique design and collectible nature of this release. For those eager to get their hands on this piece of history, pre-orders are now open, and given the limited nature of the console, it’s expected to sell out quickly.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Xbox Game Pass is also joining in on the festivities, highlighting legendary franchises that have been part of the Xbox ecosystem for years. This special edition is a must-have for collectors and longtime fans alike, offering a tangible connection to the past while delivering the cutting-edge performance of the present. Whether you’re a day-one Xbox owner or a newcomer to the family, the 25th Anniversary Edition is a beautiful homage to a legacy that continues to evolve.
