Gentner Drummond, a name that has become increasingly prominent in United States news, is a man of many facets: attorney, businessman, rancher, former Air Force captain, and currently the 20th Attorney General of Oklahoma. Born on October 1, 1963, Drummond’s journey to the political spotlight is marked by service and a commitment to reform. After earning a BS from Oklahoma State University and a JD from Georgetown University, he served in the United States Air Force from 1985 to 1993, including during the Persian Gulf War, where he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. Drummond assumed office as Attorney General on January 9, 2023, after defeating incumbent John O’Connor in the Republican primary. His fundraising prowess is evident, having raised over $1 million in the first 48 hours of a runoff and a record-breaking $6.6 million in the first quarter of 2025, the largest haul for a non-incumbent in an Oklahoma gubernatorial primary.
