Devastating Wildfires in Croatia: Omiš Tragedy and Pelješac Battle
A catastrophic wildfire has struck the Dalmatian coast south of Split, near the town of Omiš, resulting in at least one fatality and multiple injuries. The blaze, which has been raging for days, has destroyed homes and vehicles, forcing evacuations and prompting a massive emergency response. Local authorities have confirmed that the fire reached within meters of residential buildings, creating a scene of panic and destruction. In addition to the Omiš disaster, firefighters are also combating a separate wildfire on the Pelješac Peninsula in southern Croatia.
