The La Liga fixture between Athletic Bilbao and Elche CF is set to capture attention in the United States, with ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ broadcasting the match live from San Mames Stadium in Bilbao, Spain. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 PM ET on September 12, 2026, and American viewers can also stream the action via Fubo with a free trial. The game pits a struggling Elche side against an Athletic team known for its formidable home atmosphere, making it a compelling watch for soccer fans across the US.
Elche head into the match with a surprising six points, yet they currently occupy a relegation place according to the standings—a paradox that underscores the tight margins in La Liga. Their strong points tally has not translated into safety, and every point is now critical to their survival ambitions. As the article notes, Nino’s output is not just impressive—it is essential for Elche to have any chance of climbing out of the drop zone. The visitors also have injury concerns of their own and will need a significant improvement to take anything from San Mames, where Athletic are traditionally dominant.
Athletic Club, under the guidance of coach Terzic, will look to capitalize on Elche’s vulnerabilities. Both Terzic and Anselmi have confirmed their starting XIs ahead of the clash, setting the stage for a tactical battle. Athletic’s editorial independence ensures that coverage remains unbiased, but the team’s focus will be on securing three points at home. For Elche, the challenge is immense: they must overcome their relegation position and a hostile away environment to upset the odds.
For viewers in the United States, the match is available on ESPN Deportes and ESPN+, with streaming options like Fubo providing flexible access. The broadcast details vary by territory, but US fans can rely on these platforms to catch all the action. As Elche fight to escape the relegation zone and Athletic aim to assert their home dominance, this La Liga encounter promises drama and high stakes. Don’t miss the showdown at San Mames—tune in to see if Elche can defy expectations or if Athletic will make their home advantage count.
