Simon Ehammer: Switzerland’s Rising Star in Athletics
Simon Ehammer, born on 7 February 2000 in Stein, Appenzell, has become a household name in Swiss athletics. Competing in the decathlon, heptathlon, long jump, and 110 meters hurdles, Ehammer has consistently showcased his versatility and talent on the international stage. His breakthrough came at the 2021 European Athletics U23 Championships, where he clinched the gold in the long jump, setting the stage for a remarkable career.
At the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Ehammer secured a bronze medal in the long jump, a historic achievement for Switzerland. He continued to impress by winning the Diamond League long jump title in 2023 and 2025, with a memorable victory at Weltklasse Zürich on the Sechseläutenplatz, creating an electrifying atmosphere in the heart of Zurich.
