The first-half blitz of 48 points equaled the record for most points in a half, matching Newcastle’s 48-0 shutout of the Cowboys in 2003. This performance also made the Roosters the first team in Premiership history to score 70+ points on three occasions, having previously put 72 on the Wests Tigers in 2022.
However, the victory came at a cost for the Roosters, as star fullback James Tedesco did not return from halftime due to an ankle injury. His absence will be a concern for the club as they look to build on this momentum. For the Cowboys, the defeat was a humbling experience, with their defense unable to contain the Roosters’ relentless attack. The 82-point concession is the most they have ever allowed in a single match.
