Sony Pictures has unveiled the first trailer for Jumanji: Open World, the third and final entry in the franchise’s Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson-starring era. Published on July 29, 2026, the trailer offers the best look yet at the upcoming film, which is set to release on December 25, 2026. Directed by Jake Kasdan, the movie brings back the beloved quartet of video game avatars—played by Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan—alongside new characters and returning favorites like Danny DeVito. The trailer reveals that the avatars have escaped into the real world, but they are not alone: a familiar parade of wild animals from Jumanji is also rampaging through Earth, creating chaos and adventure.

This new installment follows the successful formula established in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle (2017) and its sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level (2019). While the 1995 original stayed true to the children’s book, the 2017 reboot reimagined the board game as a video game, trapping players inside until they complete the game.
