However, the heat is expected to intensify over the weekend, with the mercury potentially hitting 35°C in some areas. In contrast, the immediate outlook for this evening and tonight shows a different picture: any showers across Scotland are expected to ease, leaving many areas with a dry night and clear spells. Temperatures will be lower than last night, leading to a chillier night away from the southeast, with rural temperatures dropping to the low single figures.
