Xavier Worthy: A Rising Star in the United States
Xavier Worthy, a dynamic wide receiver for the Kansas City Chiefs, has quickly become a name to watch in the United States. Standing at 5-11 and weighing 165 pounds, the 23-year-old speedster entered the NFL as a first-round pick (28th overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft. In his rookie season, Worthy wasted no time making an impact, playing and starting in all 13 games as the team’s primary punt returner and a starting wide receiver. His electrifying performances earned him the 2024 Mack Lee Hill Award, given annually to the Chiefs’ top rookie or first-year player. Despite a promising start, Worthy’s 2025 season was hampered by a significant shoulder injury suffered in Week 1. The team attributed his lackluster production to the injury, which limited his ability to contribute consistently. In the 2026 season, he has recorded just 3 receptions for 18 yards, averaging 6 yards per catch, with no touchdowns so far. However, the Chiefs and fantasy managers remain hopeful that Worthy can take another step forward. Head coach Andy Reid praised Worthy’s performance in training camp, noting that he excelled when the team put him “in a lot of primary positions.” This expanded role could be crucial, especially if fellow receiver Rashee Rice is suspended to start the year.
