Sony has also acknowledged that memory prices are expected to stay elevated and supply-demand conditions tight through 2027, but it has not confirmed that these factors will delay a PS6 launch. As a result, the expected release window has shifted to late 2028 or 2029, a delay from the earlier 2027 target, largely due to component shortages.
Rumors about the PS6’s capabilities are abundant, but it’s important to distinguish between speculation and confirmed details. Claims of 4K at 120 frames per second, 8K at 60 frames per second, or major ray-tracing improvements are performance predictions, not announced targets.
