Fans of the horror video game franchise Five Nights at Freddy’s (FNAF) will soon have a surreal new destination to visit. American Dream, the massive entertainment and retail complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, has announced plans to open the world’s first permanent immersive restaurant experience based on the fictional Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Slated to debut in 2027, the attraction will be developed in collaboration with ScottGames, the studio behind the popular game series, and will recreate the iconic pizzeria in stunning detail.

The restaurant will be a quick-service dining experience featuring two animatronic stage shows. The Main Stage will showcase Freddy and the Fazbear Band, while Pirate Cove will feature Foxy the Pirate. Beyond the animatronic performances, guests will have the chance to participate in horror-inspired multiplayer game experiences, adding an interactive layer that pays homage to the game’s tense, survival-based gameplay. This unique blend of dining and entertainment aims to immerse visitors in the eerie yet nostalgic atmosphere of the FNAF universe.

The announcement has sparked a mix of excitement and irony, as the fictional pizzeria is canonically known for its animatronics being stuffed with the remains of missing children. Placing such a concept within American Dream—a family-oriented destination filled with licensed, safe entertainment—creates a striking juxtaposition. Nevertheless, the project underscores the enduring popularity of the FNAF franchise, which has expanded from games to a successful movie and a massive fan following.

American Dream, located approximately 57 miles from Six Flags Great Adventure (about a 75-minute drive without traffic), is already a major attraction in the Northeast. The addition of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza is expected to draw fans from across the country, offering a one-of-a-kind experience that blurs the line between fiction and reality. As the 2027 opening approaches, anticipation is building for what promises to be a bizarre, thrilling, and unforgettable addition to the world of themed dining.
