Barclays Center Unveils Major Transformation: New Atrium, American Express Lounge, and Art Installations
Barclays Center is undergoing a significant transformation as part of Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment’s multi-year investment to elevate the fan experience. The latest phase, announced on April 21, 2026, introduces a reimagined main atrium and box office, a new American Express Card Member Entrance and Lounge, and major contemporary art installations throughout the arena. These enhancements follow a series of upgrades, including the debut of two premium membership clubs in October 2024 and plans for a reimagined premium event-level hospitality space announced in January 2026.
The centerpiece of this phase is the redesigned main atrium, which serves as the entry point for over 70% of arena guests. The space will feature a suspended installation by artist Sarah Sze, creating a dramatic focal point with projected imagery and sculptural elements that reflect the motion and collective energy of the arena. This artistic addition aims to transform the arrival experience, making it more welcoming and distinctly Brooklyn.
In addition to the atrium, Barclays Center will introduce a dedicated American Express Card Member Entrance along Flatbush Avenue. This new entrance will feature exterior LEDs and provide direct access to the main concourse and suite level via a grand staircase, offering a seamless and premium experience for card members. The renovation also includes a new American Express Card Member Lounge, further enhancing the hospitality offerings for fans.
These upgrades are part of a broader $100 million, five-year plan to enhance the fan experience at Barclays Center. The venue has already debuted The Toki Row and JetBlue at The Key, two open-concept premium membership clubs, and plans to open a reimagined premium event-level hospitality space at the start of the Brooklyn Nets 2026–27 season. With these continuous improvements, Barclays Center is solidifying its position as a premier entertainment and sports destination in the United States.
