Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, co-anchors of ABC’s Good Morning America, were honored with stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday. The ceremony, attended by their spouses—Stephanopoulos’s wife Ali Wentworth and Roberts’s wife Amber Laign—marked the culmination of a yearlong celebration of the show’s 50th anniversary. The stars were unveiled as the final event in the anniversary festivities, which began on Nov. 3, 1975, when GMA first premiered.

While the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce did not immediately confirm the exact location, Good Morning America reported that the stars will be placed at 6290 Hollywood Boulevard, near the El Capitan Theatre. However, a discrepancy remains unresolved between the two accounts, as the Chamber’s initial announcement did not specify the address. Regardless, the honor recognizes the pair’s decades of reporting, highlighted by landmark interviews, major breaking news coverage, and deeply personal storytelling.

Roberts and Stephanopoulos have co-anchored Good Morning America together since 2009, guiding viewers through major stories in politics, culture, and entertainment. Their partnership has become a staple of morning television, earning them a place among the latest luminaries to receive stars on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony was attended by friends and colleagues, including actress Niecy Nash-Betts, a friend of Roberts, and actor Michael J. Fox, among others.

Reflecting on the honor, Roberts shared her life philosophy: “My purpose is pretty much to enjoy life and to spread joy and spread happiness and to enjoy everything that comes your way and to make sure everyone in your life feels important.” The stars serve as a testament to their enduring contributions to broadcast journalism and their ability to connect with audiences through both professional excellence and personal warmth.
