Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Blake Snell experienced a scare during his warm-up for Wednesday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds. According to Snell, he felt something “grab” in his groin during his bullpen session, which led to him pitching only one inning before exiting with what the team described as groin tightness. The incident occurred on September 10, 2025, and immediately raised concerns about the health of the Dodgers’ prized offseason acquisition.
After the game, Snell provided an update, revealing that while the sensation was alarming, he believes it is not a serious issue. “It’s more of a precautionary approach,” Snell said. “I felt it grab, but I don’t think it’s anything major. We’ll take it day by day.” The Dodgers are hopeful that Snell will avoid an extended absence as they aim to become the first team to win three consecutive World Series titles since the New York Yankees accomplished the feat from 1998 to 2000.
